Throwback....Tuseday?

Image
Hey, it's Throwback Thur.....Tuesday! Why? Who knows? My custom Skywarp and Thundercracker with the SDCC Starscream. These are made entirely with the updated release of the Skystriker. The canopies are tinted orange with Tamyia Clear Orange aerosol paint. The paint used on the customs are also Tamyia aerosol. I'll be switching to an airbrush for future custom vehicles, but Tamyia makes great spray paint. The stickers were provided by what is now Toyhax.com, which I highly recommend.

How to make custom cards in Photoshop

Image
As long requested, I have started doing video tutorials on customizing. The biggest request by far has been on how to make custom cards for your figures. This will be a three part video series. The first will be on how to do the graphic art in Photoshop. And yes, Photoshop is pretty much a requirement for this particular task. The second video, I'll address printing issues, specifically the type of paper to use. The third and final video we'll put it all together. I'll discuss how to assemble your card, some of the useful tools to round your corners and punch peg holes, blisters for your figures and how to attach them. The graphic art, as I've mentioned in the introduction video, is where the heavy lifting is done. Once you have a nice looking card in Photoshop, it's pretty much down hill from there. There is a bit of a learning curve to using Photoshop as well, but if you get stuck on how to do something, let YouTube be your guide. Or....just start clicking button...

Sirius Black with custom card back. I was gifted a custom cast Sirius Black head by a friend a few years back and it's been sitting in my fodder bin until I recently had a surplus of suited figures to use up. This was also my first custom figure that I used my airbrush on. I had made a horrible mess of the wash on the suit, but the airbrush evened everything out perfectly!
